The Enchanted Crystal |
|
Long, long ago, in a far away land, there lived a noble prince and a lovely princess. Their names were Prince William and Princess Angelica. They lived in an enchanted crystal castle. The castle was enchanted because there was a magical crystal that was kept high in the tower. Whoever had it in their possession would become immortal. Prince William and Princess Angelica were the guardians of the crystal. However, they did not know there was a dark and evil sorcerer living in a nearby, forsaken forest, in an old, abandoned gloomy cave, who wanted to take the crystal. The dark sorcerer, Shadowsoul, wanted the magic crystal for himself and was planning an evil scheme to steal it. One day, while Prince William and Princess Angelica were throwing a feast in the courtyard, Shadowsoul sneaked up the tower and took the enchanted crystal. Suddenly, dark clouds formed in the sky! Thunder began to roar and lightning flashed across the sky. Prince William and Princess Angelica looked up the tower and saw the dark sorcerer nabbing the crystal. “Guards!” they cried, as Prince William grabbed his armor. But, they were too late. Shadowsoul escaped with the enchanted crystal. |

They immediately went to find the evil sorcerer. They searched in the castle, but he was no where to be found. Suddenly, Prince William and Princess Angelica saw something glowing. So they walked towards the glowing lights which were everywhere. Then they noticed the sorcerer’s shadow. He was holding the crystal. When he saw the prince and princess, he started to run away from them. He took the crystal with him. Prince William and Princess Angelica were unable to catch him. Shadowsoul escaped from the castle and went to a cave where on one could find him or the crystal. The sorcerer used the crystal to cast evil spells on them. |

The sorcerer’s spell was horrible. As soon as Prince William and Princess Angelica returned to the castle, they become frozen on that very spot. Magically, writing appeared on the door of the castle. It said: For the spell to broken a knight must find four things, a gold necklace, a blue tulip with a red stem, a rock with ancient writing on it, and the enchanted crystal. The youngest and strongest knight in the kingdom was riding by the castle when he noticed something strange written on the castle door. He stopped to read it and decided that he would be the one to save the prince and princess. He copied the message on a piece of paper and hid it in his armor so that he wouldn’t forget what he needed to find and rod off on his horse in search of the gold necklace. It was easy to find. The knight knew about a secret passage that led into the castle. He followed the secret passage and once he was in the castle, he went into the princess’ room. Inside her drawer, he found her gold necklace. Next, the knight went to see his friend the wizard. He knew that the wizard loved to grow rare flowers. Luckily the wizard was growing blue tulips with red stems. He gladly gave one to the knight to help save the prince and princess. The knight knew that finding the rock with ancient writing would be very difficult. He decided to walk along the water that was near the enchanted castle. While he was walking and thinking, he tripped over something. He looked down to see what it was and to his great surprise it was a rock with ancient writing on it. The knight got back on his horse and rod around in the forest in search of Shadowsoul and the crystal. Suddenly he saw steam rising from between some trees. He went to investigate and bumped his head on something. He realized that this must be Shadowsoul’s secret cave. He felt around for a door and walked into the cave. He looked around the castle and didn’t see Shadowsoul anywhere, but he did see something glowing inside a box. Quietly, he opened the box and found the crystal. As he left the cave, he noticed that Shadowsoul was sleeping under a tree. The knight quickly went back to the castle and placed all four objects in the door. Prince William and Princess Angelica became unfrozen. The spell was broken. Shadowsoul was no longer in possession of the crystal and was no longer immortal. He never woke up from under the tree because he was so old. The prince and princess decided to have a huge feast for the knight to thank him for saving them. The three of them lived happily ever after forever. |
