All about us
|
|
|
We are a class of 24 Great Wizards of Words. Can
you guess why our town is called Riverview? Our school is right next to
the river and we can see the ducks and geese swimming in the spring and
in the fall. Every year, we have a HUGE picnic in our school yard. The
yard is full of trees that the students planted many years ago. We have
a garden and a pond. In the spring we plant flowers in our garden.
This is Charley, our mascot. Charley didn't come
from the river. He came from a pet store. We think Charley likes to watch
what we do through the glass of his fishbowl.
With Mrs B. we do a lot of fun things. We have
been reading all kinds of Fairy Tales. We made all kinds of Fairy Tale
buildings: a castle, the three little pigs' straw house, Cinderella's
house, and more. Now we want to write Fairy tales of our own.

Feeding Charley
Everyday, somebody is responsible for feeding
Charley. Today, it is J's turn. He is very careful not to give Charley
too much food.
|
 |
Eating the Gingerbread Man
When we read the story of the Gingerbread
we made gingerbread cookies. We had to measure and count, mix and
bake. It smelled delicious in the school. Then we got to eat our
cookies.
|
 |
Building houses and castles
We tried to imagine what the houses and buildings
in the Fairy Tales looked liked. M.D.'s group built a castle out
of Lego. They explained to us what each room was.

Dear Wizards of words
We saw some of the things you are doing in class. We liked the
idea of baking cookies. We asked our teacher if we could do that
too. We haven't decided what fairy tale we are going to write yet.
We'll let you know soon. Come visit our Web page too.

Mongeau's class, Dollard - March 25, 2003
