Timeline

The timeline for this project is flexible because the user-friendly interface allows you to put Alphabet Pictures and Sounds in your Class Alphabet Book on an on-going basis as children finish their work. Developing the Class Web Page and using its communications capabilities is also an on-going process that can span the entire year.

If you find that things are going well and you want to take on a second or third letter, just contact the project co-ordinator.

Registration: Fall: September 1 to October 15. Winter:January 3 to February 15
Developing your Class Web Page: on-going throughout the project.
Phase 1 - Exploring the letter sounds: Allow at least a month of related activities.
Phase 2 - Creating digital pictures: Allow a month
Phase 3 - Recording the sounds: Allow a month
Phase 4 - Posting pictures and sounds in your Alphabet book: can be ongoing.
Phase 5 - Discovering the Alphabet Books posted by you and other classes: can be on-going.

Note: Phases 2, 3 and 4 can be done together. When a student has create a digital picture (drawn & scanned, built & photographed, or drawn on the computer) you can proceed with the sound recording and post both immediately. You can collect finished work and make it weekly postings. You don't need to wait to have all pictures before you record sounds, and you don't have to wait to have everything completed before you begin posting. Not all children need to participate. It's opened to you class management strategies.
